Description

The Edge-CorE ES5508 is a 10GB Ehternet Layer 2/4 Standalone Switch featuring 8 XFP ports which support for SR, LR, and ER Optics. The ES5508 is ideal for aggregating the gigabit switch with 10Gb Uplinks to the core network, relieving bottlenecks created on the uplink ports of Gigabit switches. It is also ideal for aggregating server farms that are equipped with 10GB NIC cards to provide line speed 10G switching. With a 10GB Ethernet backbone, high speed and high bandwidth applications such as video on demand e-learning and network storage data backup can achieve superior performance.

XFP-CX4

The XFP-CX4 copper transceiver module provides cost effective and reliable transport of 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN data over distances of up to 15 meters. Transparently to the user, the module transfers the 10GbE data stream over four full-duplex 3.125 GigaBaud channels over a single parallel copper cable. The product offers the ability to scale bandwidth in 10 Gigabit increments, and directly with the industry standard MDI electrical socket.
